1.1 Usage Statistics

To show screen time insights, the app reads and stores on-device data such as:

• Time spent in applications
• Session duration and frequency
• App usage patterns used for local insights and reminders

1.2 Optional Extra Metrics (Accessibility)

If you opt in, the optional Accessibility feature may count taps, estimate scroll distance, and estimate words typed. It does not read passwords or send content off your device. You can turn this off at any time.

1.3 Device And Permission Status

The app may read the following locally so features work correctly:

• Device model and Android version (as exposed by the system APIs we use)
• App version
• Battery optimization status
• Usage Access, overlay, notification, and accessibility permission status

1.4 Personal Settings

Preferences are stored locally on your device, including:

• Daily goals, app timers, and limits
• Display and overlay preferences
• Notification and break reminder settings
• App filter configurations

2. How We Use This Information

All processing happens on your device to:

• Display screen time statistics and an optional overlay
• Provide local insights, goals, and reminders
• Send on-device notifications you enable

We do not operate cloud analytics, ads, or crash-reporting SDKs in this app, and we do not transmit your usage statistics to our servers.

3. Data Storage And Security

3.1 Local Storage

Usage data and settings are stored locally in the app’s private storage on your device. The app does not require an internet connection for core features and does not include an INTERNET permission for uploading your usage data.

3.2 Security

Data is protected by Android’s app sandbox. Only this app (and the system, when you grant permissions) can access its private storage.

3.3 Data Retention And Deletion

Data remains on your device while the app is installed. Uninstalling the app deletes the app’s local data. Clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings also removes local data.

4. Permissions

4.1 Permissions Used

• Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Track app usage and screen time
• Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Show the optional floating overlay
• Foreground Service / Special Use: Keep on-device monitoring running while you have tracking started, with a visible notification
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Send usage reminders, limits, and break suggestions you enable
• Vibrate: Optional notification feedback
• Battery Optimization Exemption: Optional; helps reliable tracking on some devices
• Boot Completed: Optionally restart tracking after reboot if you left it running

4.2 Optional Accessibility Service

Used only if you enable Extra metrics. It counts interaction events for optional insights and is not required for screen time tracking.

5. Data Backup

Android Auto Backup may preserve some non-sensitive app preferences when you switch devices. Usage statistics and related behavioral data are excluded from cloud backup where possible. We do not run our own cloud sync.

6. Your Choices

• View usage data inside the app
• Control which apps are included via filters
• Enable or disable Extra metrics (Accessibility)
• Manage notification preferences
• Stop the overlay / foreground service at any time
• Delete all app data by clearing storage or uninstalling

7. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
